Clip ‘n Climb Thanet welcomed a wonderful young boy named Jenson and his mum back in July. Jenson is 11 years old and was born with severe sight impairment. He uses a white cane when in unfamiliar situations and is learning to read braille. His mum Victoria tells us he is very active and that they have always encouraged him to try new things. He attends SEND rugby, VI football and is a green belt in judo, a sport that relies on close contact with your opponent. And like most 11 year old boys, he doesn’t enjoy housework

It was his first trip to Clip ‘n’ Climb and it’s fair to say he absolutely smashed it! This is what Jenson and his mum thought…

How was your experience at Clip ‘n Climb?

Great, we had a brilliant time!

What was your favourite challenge?

Stairway to Heaven.

Was there anything we could have done better to improve your experience?

Once the staff were made aware that Jenson has a vision impairment they assisted very well. It was good to be taken around the course, shown the equipment close-up and receive a demonstration on the harness, so Jenson could get a feel of the connectors.

Would you recommend Clip ‘n Climb to others? And if so, why?

Yes, because there was a good variety of courses to try. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the challenges. We thought the colour choices were excellent, a great contrast. We had a great time, thank you for making us feel welcomed.

We hope to see Jenson back again very soon and wish him every success in the future.
