Following our recent openings in Gloucester and Croydon, we’re thrilled to announce that Clip ‘n Climb is coming to Colchester this April – making this our third new franchise to open this year! Located at Northern Gateway Leisure Park, this newest venue will feature 22 unique climbing challenges alongside Play Den, a brand-new three-tier soft play area, creating the ultimate destination for families across Essex.

What to Expect

Clip ‘n Climb

With 22 uniquely themed climbing challenges (30 climbing lines), and numerous ways to climb each one, no two visits are ever the same. From the Leap of Faith to Twister, Stairway to Heaven, Jungle Vines, Cloud 9, and Face 2 Face and new challenges Quadra and Crunched – there’s a challenge for every ability. Each session includes a 30-minute safety briefing followed by 60 minutes of climbing, giving everyone plenty of time to take on as many walls as they like.

Play Den Soft Play

Introducing Play Den – our three-tier soft play area designed for children up to 10 years old, and the perfect complement to a climbing visit. Whether families want to combine climbing and soft play or just let the little ones enjoy Play Den on its own, there’s something for everyone under one roof.

South Ridge Café

After using all that energy, refuel at the South Ridge Café, with snacks, home-made pizza, sweet treats and a range of hot and cold drinks. Whether you need a quick bite or want to make an afternoon of it, the café has you covered.

Birthday coming up? With both climbing and soft play party packages available, there’s an unforgettable party just waiting for everyone! Everything’s designed to make the celebration stress-free for you and memorable for them. Just bring the cake!

Something for Everyone, Every Week

Beyond regular sessions, you’ll also find:

• Mini Mountaineers+ for toddlers and young siblings – a limited-capacity session that runs as the first session of every day
• Climb ‘n Dine – weekday afternoon sessions where your climb ticket includes a 12″ pizza!

The team will be looking to add more sessions once open, based upon feedback from the local community so they can provide exactly what’s needed in the area.

Meet the Team

Clip ‘n Climb & Soft Play Colchester will be run by four local franchisees, passionate about bringing a world-class active experience to the area.

Brothers Jake and Joe Moore are already behind one of Essex’s most popular outdoor destinations – Curve Water Sports – offering everything from an inflatable aqua park and aqua climb to wakeboarding, paddleboarding, kayaking, and e-bike rental. With a proven track record of running a successful active leisure business, Jake and Joe are well placed to bring the same energy and commitment to Clip ‘n Climb Colchester.

Joining Jake and Joe is Dr Leo Monzon and Naomi Lock. Leo is a Consultant Adult, Paediatric and Neonatal Interventional Radiologist while Naomi works in London’s Financial District. Clip ‘n Climb Colchester is their first venture into active family entertainment.
